Nurse Aide Training (CNA Course)

Course Description

NMHTS CNA Course is licensed by the State of Michigan to meet all state and federal Nurse Aide Training Program (NATP) requirements.  Upon successful completion, graduates of NMHTS are then eligible to sit for their state exam to receive certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).  All persons holding certification are tracked in Michigan's Nurse Aide Registry.

Course Pre-Requisites

  • TB Test- Documentation of negative TB test  within past year.  If no prior test conducted, NMHTS will assist students with obtaining test.  

Student Requirements

Students must be able to lift up to 75 pounds and walk/stand for multiple hours during clinicals.  

Students must be able to attend all scheduled dates to meet the state minimum required hours of training. Make up time is available, at an additional cost to the student.

Class Schedule

Class typically runs M-F for 2 weeks (some variations occur due to holidays) or Sa/Su for 5 weekends.  Class runs from 8:30am to 5:00pm  with the exception of the last 2 days.  The last 2 days of class are on site at a designated clinical location and run from 6:30am to 3:30pm.
